When people dream they are paralyzed. Dreaming takes place in the REM stage of sleep, also called paradoxical sleep. So if you wake up hurt in some way, like a swollen lip, I remember Juliana don’t worry, you probably hurt yourself earlier on in the night and woke up directly after dreaming, so you believe that something happened during your dream. But that is not possible because as I said earlier, when you dream you are paralyzed. Another possibility is that you had a dream involving teeth, like having teeth falling out, then as you were waking up you clamped your teeth on your lip causing swelling. As for the symbolism of teeth falling out, it could possibly mean that something important is missing from your life or you believe that something important is missing. This is just a guess, if you would like to share the context of the whole dream I could try to make a better analysis.
The Unicorn has nothing to do with the update.
I adored your unicorn that had no legit place in this post but he belonged there nonetheless. I can't imagine waking up with a swollen lip but I clench my teeth when I sleep and since my braces I sometimes clamp onto my cheek and i wake up in pain in the morning. I don't bleed or anything, it just get's sore. If I woke up with a swollen lip I would sleep with a wooden spoon and perhaps a whisk. Then I might be able to whip my attacker the next time they appeared. (; That is what I would do before you enlightened me, now I needn't worry and the whisk can stay in the kitchen drawer.
ReplyDeleteThat would freak me out if I caught a swollen lip when I woke up because I would think either I did it or someone came into my room and punched me!I think it's funny how you can dream something and it is kind of happening in real life.Like a few times i fell off my bed in my sleep and dreamt that I was falling in the sky!
ReplyDeleteLove this BLOG!! I have a suggestion, make an analysis on controlling your own character in your dream. I've gotten to the point were I can control my own dream. I'm in the REM stage and I am conscious about the enemy and so I'm able to overcome the obstacle that your own mind is giving to you. Is that even normal? I've read it takes a lot of practice to get to that point.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting posting. The women on my mom's side of the family are famous for having dreams with symbols that mean something that ultimately plays out in "real life." For example, when someone dreams about their teeth falling out, that means there will be a death. And, the dreams are always right. It is kind of freaky.
ReplyDeleteWhat about reoccurring dreams, do those mean anything? The other night I had a dream that I remember having a few months ago. Nothing bad actually happened in my dream, but I woke up mad and a little bit scared...I thought it was weird.
